Shelf Candy Saturday #3

Shelf Candy Saturday is a meme put on by Five Alarm Reviews where us bloggers pick a cover we love and talk about why we love it!

Today's Shelf Candy is Defiance by CJ Redwine.  It will be released August 28, 2012

I just LOVE this cover!  Her gorgerous red hair, her pose, and her cloak draped all over is just stunning.  And then, of course, the "hidden" castle or fort in the picture.  And I love the leaves falling all around the trees and how you can see mist and it seems a little blurry. Love it!

Feature and Follow Fridays #3

Feature and Follow Friday is a meme put on by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read where us all bloggers answer a question.  Today's question is:

Q: What is the best book you've read in the last month? What is the worst book you've read in the last month?.

We will start with the best book.  Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins

This book was a great romance read, and just plain fun, really.  I can't wait to read Lola and the Boy Next Door!

Worst book?  This was harder because all the books I've read in the last month were good.  But my least favorite was Enthralled: Paranormal Diversions by Melissa Marr and other authors.

It is a collections of short stories.  There are a few duds in there, but most were good. The best one is the first story by Claudia Gray.
What's the best and worst books you've read in the last month?

Wanderlove Giveaway!

Giveaway for the release of Wanderlove HERE.  Good luck!

Are you a Global Vagabond?

No, but 18-year-old Bria Sandoval wants to be. In a quest for independence, her neglected art, and no-strings-attached hookups, she signs up for a guided tour of Central America—the wrong one. Middle-aged tourists with fanny packs are hardly the key to self-rediscovery. When Bria meets Rowan, devoted backpacker and dive instructor, and his outspokenly humanitarian sister Starling, she seizes the chance to ditch her group and join them off the beaten path.

Bria's a good girl trying to go bad. Rowan's a bad boy trying to stay good. As they travel across a panorama of Mayan villages, remote Belizean islands, and hostels plagued with jungle beasties, they discover what they've got in common: both seek to leave behind the old versions of themselves. And the secret to escaping the past, Rowan’s found, is to keep moving forward.

But Bria comes to realize she can't run forever, no matter what Rowan says. If she ever wants the courage to fall for someone worthwhile, she has to start looking back.

Kirsten Hubbard lends her artistry to this ultimate backpacker novel, weaving her drawings into the text. Her career as a travel writer and her experiences as a real-life vagabond backpacking Central America are deeply seeded in this inspiring story.
