The authors are collecting votes from January 1 to February 15, and any city in the continental US or any Canadian city that has an international airport can win an exclusive visit from all five authors, including an author panel and book signing! Entering is super easy--and if you help spread the word about the contest, you can also enter win a signed copy of all of their books (TEN signed books in total!)--and the book contest is open internationally!

The authors in the program are:

And they want to have an event in your home town! To participate, just got to the YA2U website and let them know what city you want them to come to. And while you're there, help spread the word about the contest and you can be entered to win all of their books--TEN signed books in total!

Here's why the YA2U Team should come to MY hometown!
So I am from a small town in Iowa--Ames, home of Iowa State University.  We never get authors to come visit us!  Occasionally, we get some that come to Des Moines, which is about an hour away, but that doesn't happen often!
Ames is a small city with a population of about 50,000.  Half of that is from the university.  We also have many outlying communities: Huxley, Nevada, Story City, Boone, and Ogden, just to name a few! There are many more!  They average about 1,000-5,000 people each, except for Boone, which has about 12,000.
We have a fabulous new chain bookstore, BAM, which recently came to down.  Other than the ISU book shop, that is the only bookstore we have in the area! (In the last 10 years, 2 other bookstores have closed.)
The city of Ames just approved renovations of our public library.  It will take 18 months to finish.  They are using the same location, but redoing everything, to get things updated. It will have a huge auditorium and other meeting rooms.  This was a vote that the public had to approve, which it did easily.  Our libraries are a big thing here! So the library is in a temporary home, an old bookstore that closed a few years ago.  I'm not sure there would be room there for an event of this size; so I'm advising that BAM would be a good place to hold the event.
Coming to our hometown would be just amazing.  Even though the town is only 50,000, the authors are easily reaching up to half a million people!  Most of them extremely  well educated!
Iowa is also the home to many, many authors, and even more aspiring authors!  Writing and literacy is a big deal here.  I'm sure everyone has heard of the Iowa Writer's Workshop?  That's just the tip of the iceberg.  A lot of high schools offer creative writing courses.  You are probably thinking, so what?  Well, most of these schools are small.  There are hardly any larger schools in Iowa, other than the large cities.  They struggle being able to offer many things that most schools in large towns can offer.  But reading and writing are always a huge priority!
It would mean so much to us, especially me, if we were the town chosen.

Why should the YA2U Team come to your hometown? Why not join in the fun today and share with others about this program and your hometown. The more votes your town gets, the closer you are to having your very own personal tour stop! Vote for YOUR town here!

And if you help spread the word, you can also participate in the book giveaway. Tell them that you learned about YA2U from me and we both get extra entries in the contest!
